Thank you for visiting Light is Sweet, my photo journal. I tell stories with pictures, specializing in custom documentary family portraiture. My photos celebrate your child’s spirit, or those special moments in your family’s life. I am an award-winning photojournalist with over 20 years of experience. Using an unobtrusive style I capture the spontaneous moments of your family’s life at home, in the garden, or your favorite park or streetscape.
I am based in Charlotte, NC, and have photographed assignments throughout the U.S. and abroad. I’ve been a photojournalist at New York Newsday, The Associated Press in Philadelphia, and most recently at The Baltimore Sun. I’ve had the privilege of covering a wide range of stories – Presidential and Papal visits, sports, fashion, food, interior design and numerous parades, protests, and press conferences.
I continue to pursue editorial assignments and corporate work, but my favorite stories focus on the lives of children and families.
