Family Love

Loved spending time with this very special family. Our families have been friends since our children were babies ~ I met mom at the gym and our children played together in the nursery. Nine years later, we’ve gotten together for a family photo session. The children love playing in the trees and spend a lot of time in their yard, so we chose to photograph them on an early Saturday morning in their garden. When I think of them I think of the color that fills their lives ~  I love being around this family – they have tremendous fun and great love for each other . I was fortunate to be able to work with them during my trip to the Baltimore area last weekend. Here are some sneak peeks from our morning together ~

Fun With Siblings

I enjoyed traveling to my old stomping grounds ~ the Baltimore, MD area ~ to photograph several wonderful families last weekend. I met these two siblings nine years ago when they were oh so tiny. They were neighbors that became fast family friends. We celebrated birthdays and traveled to the beach and mountains together. (We miss them a lot!!) So I was honored when their mom asked me to photograph her children – they are growing up too quickly! They love the outdoors so we chose their garden for the setting for their portraits. Sweet Ballerina

I had a wonderful time photographing this beautiful ballerina in her garden. Her mother contacted me a while back and had always wanted photos of her daughter in her tutu. We chose the late afternoon for soft, sweet light, and had a lot of fun together. We also photographed her in her favorite blue dress. Fun in the Garden

Gardens and outdoor settings are my favorite places to photograph children. I enjoyed working with these siblings in the garden early in the morning. Beautiful light – cloudy bright — when the sun is trying to peek through the clouds and there is a gorgeous muted soft light all around. They chose a wardrobe of blue hues – very flattering – and comfy clothing – easy to move in. I think their favorite spot (and mine!) was the tree – love those great climbing trees! A Perfect Setting

I had a wonderful time photographing this sweet family at the Anne Springs Close Greenway. The landscape and late afternoon light worked hand in hand to produce an incredible setting for this family’s portraits. We chose the Greenway because it is a special place to this family.  Mom, (who is looking gorgeous!)  booked me earlier this spring in anticipation of her family’s new arrival ~ baby E. And what a perfect late afternoon it was — The girls were dressed in bright pink (even pink toenails!)  and the guys were looking rather handsome.  We took a stroll along the Greenway and captured some precious moments as the crickets buzzed and the sun slowly set.

I love what September brings – cool crisp mornings, warm midday sunshine and spectacular sunsets. I spent a recent morning with this sweet family at Latta Plantation – it was a quiet post- Labor Day weekend morning – peaceful air, beautiful soft sweet light.
